The creators of Tupac’s Coachella hologram reveal other artists they’d like to bring back to life: Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson.

<P>The world can't seem to get enough of that <a href="/news/articles/1683173/tupac-hologram-coachella.jhtml">Tupac hologram from the Coachella festival</a>. The late rapper's lifelike image left fans in awe as it performed alongside Snoop Dogg during his set with Dr. Dre.
The people behind the projection system that created the incredibly realistic likeness of the MC are now cooking up ideas of who else they might want to bring back to life.
Speaking to <a href="http://www.nme.com/news/2pac/63453" target="_blank"><i>NME</i></a>, Sanj Surati, head of music at Musion Technology Ltd, explained that one of music's greats could one day perform alongside one of pop's biggest stars. Asked whether there were plans to bring back Elvis Presley and perhaps have him perform next to Justin Bieber, Surati said it "would be a cool thing."</P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:757407/cp~vid%3D757407%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A757407" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed>
If an Elvis/Bieber collabo can't shake out, Surati explained there are others he'd like to see come to life: "Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, oh, and Michael Jackson would be the ultimate one," he said. "Maybe even Whitney Houston."
As for the future of the famous Tupac-ogram, well, Surati hopes it can be resurrected once again on a bigger-scale tour. "This is obviously a historic and exciting initiative that we're all witnessing currently, and it would make sense for them to bring it to Europe," he said. "And maybe take it to the rest of the world."
Since the debut of the Tupac hologram, fans have been wondering what other beloved performers could find new life using this technology. On the <a href="/news/articles/1683858/left-eye-tlc-death.jhtml">10-year anniversary of Left Eye's death</a>, there was an unconfirmed report from <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/04/25/tlc-reunion-tour-left-eye-lisa-lopes/#.T5hXEeDoruQ" target="_blank">TMZ</a> that TLC might bring back the group's sassy rapper for a "massive 2012 reunion tour." The group has yet to comment on the rumor.

Pair look like they’re working on songs for Bieber’s upcoming Believe album.

<P>Perhaps Kanye West doesn't have to sleep like the rest of us mere mortals. That might explain how the rapper is seemingly everywhere at once these days: squiring <a href="/news/articles/1683892/kim-kardashian-kanye-west-romance.jhtml">Kim Kardashian all over New York</a>, shooting a mysterious <a href="/news/articles/1683847/kanye-west-kid-cudi-video-project-middle-east.jhtml">mini-movie in Qatar</a>
 and popping into a recording studio to work on tracks with pal <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>.
While the 18-year-old pop star has been wrapping up work on his upcoming album, <a href="/news/articles/1683335/justin-bieber-believe-the-voice.jhtml"><I>Believe</I>,</a>
 due out June 19, he got a visit from West. In addition to announcing the release date during an appearance on "The Voice," he also brought along a teaser for his as-yet-unreleased "Boyfriend" video.  while shooting the video back in March. "It's not like 'Justin follows this girl to this spot.' "And then there's scenes of me and just a bunch of girl dancers, and just some great shots, great artistic shots, great shots of me smiling. It's fun."

She’s wrapping up another season of “American Idol”, just announceed a tour with Enrique Iglesias and is readying for the May 18th release of her new movie, but Jennifer Lopez somehow managed to find time to partake in a cover girl gig for the June 2012 issue of Glamour UK.
Decked out in an Enza Coasta vest teamed with a Salvatore Ferragamo bandeau top and a Chris Benz skirt, the 42-year-old superstar worked it for the Matthias Vriens-McGrath shot spread while opening up about topics including cosmetic surgery, raising twins and relationships.

The superstar added that there's one thing about her current act that her mother isn't a big fan of.</P><P>"She doesn't like when I swear," Gaga said, with her mother adding, "You're effective without it."</P><P>Another part of the candid chat also focused on Gaga's youth, during which she said she was frequently bullied. "There really is no difference between the bully and the victim," she said. "I would like to do a psychological autopsy on as many bullies and victims as possible … How do we understand what breeds hatred, what breeds anger?"
She added that despite all "all the praise you receive, something inside of you is scarred by those experiences. … Sometimes I feel worthless."
Parts of the special were also filmed at Harvard University last month.</P><P>The singer and the talk show host were on hand at the prestigious college to launch Gaga's <a href="/news/articles/1680176/lady-gaga-launches-born-this-way-foundation-harvard.jhtml"><i>Born This Way</i> Foundation</a>.</P><P>"I just have one thing to say before we get started: We got Oprah! … Thank you from all of us — from my entire team, from my mother, from the bottom of the hearts of so many people who believe in what we're doing today," Gaga said at the launch. </P><P>"We're friends with her, we've known her since way before she was famous, before she was even a singer, I guess," Keys drummer Patrick Carney told MTV News. "When she was 16 years old, she used to sneak into our shows. We kind of became friends with her by kicking her out of our backstage room, over and over again. She actually has snuck into shows in L.A., San Diego, Coachella …"

</P><P>"She snuck in and [got] kicked out of one show, like, <i>five</i> times," frontman Dan Auerbach added. "[She] snuck in through the kitchen. I don't know if she's such a big fan; she just likes breaking the rules."

</P><P>So, when MTV News sat down with the 'Keys in Berlin during the premiere of their <a href="/news/articles/1678662/black-keys-gold-on-the-ceiling-music-video.jhtml">"Gold on the Ceiling"</a> video, we had to ask if their friendship with Ke$ha would take the next step: an actual musical collaboration. It's not all that far-fetched, considering both Ke$h and Auerbach live in Nashville ("I see her every once in a while flying by in her T-Top [convertible]," Auerbach laughed), and recently, the glittery one has logged studio time with <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/160846424609787906" target="_blank">the Flaming Lips</a>. So, could we see a team-up on the next Black Keys album?

</P><P>"I guess, I don't know," Carney said. "We don't really do that many collaborations, really."

</P><P>OK, so if a Ke$ha collabo isn't in the cards, just who would the 'Keys like to work with next? Well, as it turns out, they've got their eyes set on landing a very big star for the next record … even if they mistakenly believe he's deceased.

</P><P>"We both want to work with Jim Nabors very badly, but apparently he's not with us anymore," Carney said.
</P><P>Oh, <a href="http://www.jimnabors.com/" target="_blank">but he is.</a> Which means that, much like Nabors, the dream is alive. The Ke$ha collabo? Eh, probably not so much.

‘It was the first time you hear an artist from the mainstream singing bachata,’ former Aventura frontman tells MTV News of single ‘Promise.’

Mixing his signature bachata flair with some R&B, he is showing fans a whole new side on his debut album, <i>Formula, Vol. 1.</i>

</P><P>Hoping to spread his unique sound and style to a mainstream audience, Santos enlisted <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lil_wayne/artist.jhtml">Lil Wayne</a> for his latest single, "All Aboard."

</P><P>"This song 'All Aboard,' that tune allowed me to expand and kind of offer my audience something totally different because it's not bachata — I'm singing English and that was really fun," Santos recently told MTV News. "I was a little nervous about that, but people actually really accepted it."
</P><P>
</P><P>Santos and Weezy recently shot the video for "All Aboard" in Miami; he called the clip "sexy," "seductive" and "elegant," but also revealed that this collaboration came very close to not making his album.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I was just like, I like the song but it's missing something, and at first I couldn't figure out what it was," Santos said. "What we did was we left 16 bars open, and I was like, you know, who would rip this track? Lil Wayne. So we reached out. It barely made the album because he's a busy dude, so he actually got on the record two months after we submitted it. It was like, if we don't get his vocals in the next two days we hit, and we got it, so we made it and the song is just really great."

</P><P>Wayne isn't the only artist Santos pulled in for his album. On his last single, "Promise," he teamed up with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, who last week joined him onstage at <a href="/news/articles/1678993/romeo-santos-solo-tour.jhtml">Santos' first of three sold-out shows</a> at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The British boy bands are in it to win it!
MTV’s Battle of the Boy Bands advanced into the third round on Monday (April 30), with U.K. group Westlife continuing their impressive run by beating out O-Town in the Sweet 16, and England’s 5ive overtaking LFO. The two groups join English newcomers One Direction and the Wanted, as well as Big Time Rush and Mindless Behavior in the Elite Eight.
New Kids on the Block had a tough matchup against the Beatles. In the end, the Boston band just couldn’t gain enough votes to get them through. But the closest match was a fight to the finish between the Jonas Brothers and Hanson. The JoBros ultimately overtook the trio in a last-minute surge of voting to continue on in the competition.
So what do the Elite Eight matchups look like now? Read on for a breakdown and remember polls close at noon ET on Wednesday!
Midwest
Westlife vs. the Beatles: Westlife’s fanbase is no joke. Fans from around the world have been voting for these guys around the clock to ensure they make it to the finals. But the group, who are currently in rehearsals for their farewell tour, will have a tough Elite Eight matchup in the Beatles. The Fab Four barely made it by New Kids on the Block in the Sweet 16, so expect another close matchup in this round. Fun fact about these two groups: Westlife’s first seven singles debuted at the top of the U.K. charts, tying with the Beatles’ record.
East
5ive vs. Jonas Brothers: 5ive have surprised many of the fans watching this competition. They took out two of the biggest boy bands of the late ’90s in the early stages of competition, ‘NSYNC and LFO, and will now face off against the Jonas Brothers. While 5ive haven’t been an active group since 2001, they fanbase is still very loyal. It might be tough, however, to get past the Jonases. The JoBros are still very much a group and are reportedly working on their next album, which may motivate fans to keep voting. This matchup will most likely be another nail-biter.
West
The Wanted vs. Big Time Rush: Rushers are making their presence known in this competition as they helped their group, Big Time Rush, overpower R&B chart-toppers Boyz II Men. Things should get very interesting now as BTR take on the Wanted: The Brit newcomers fought to the death in the last round, barely making it by the Monkees, so be ready for another down-to-the-wire clash for this pair of relatively new boy bands.
South
One Direction vs. Mindless Behavior: This should be a fight to the finish with fans of both groups casting votes like crazy. Mindless had a big win over NKOTBSB and they hope to carry that momentum into the Elite Eight. But 1D fans have also been voting furiously, giving One Direction relatively easy wins over their competition thus far.

I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would’ve taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here’s a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

Tommy Marth, a saxophonist who played with indie pop group The Killers, was found dead in his Las Vegas home Monday. According to local newspaper Las Vegas Weekly, the official cause of death has been ruled suicide. Marth, who is survived by his parents and two siblings, was 33 years old.

It’s not always easy being in a boy band. There are a lot of preconceptions for the five guys who choose to sing catchy pop tunes and dance in formation for a living.
Given that boy bands have come in and out of fashion once every decade for the last few years, it should come as no surprise that we are knee-deep in a brand-new boy-band bonanza. This one is being led by this generation’s ‘NSYNC and Backstreet Boys: One Direction and the Wanted.
When MTV News sat down with the Wanted to premiere their “Chasing the Sun” video, they chatted a bit about being labeled a “boy band.”
“Eventually, we were, like, over it,” Jay McGuiness explained. “If you like us despite it or because of it, then we’re happy.”
Well, something is working for the guys. Their lead U.S. single, “Glad You Came,” has topped the charts, and they are once again getting people dancing with “Chasing the Sun,” from their just-released debut U.S. EP. It’s a good time to be in a boy band, thanks to all the love out there for them. And it’s an even better time to be in the Wanted.
It seems that their success might have a lot to do with the way they’ve approached their boy-band career thus far. “We went out there and we’re like, ‘You know what? I think we can change people’s perspectives of the ’90s boy bands,’ ” Tom Parker explained. “And that was our aim: just to make good music.”

"I was playing, and then he came to hang out and just to have a good time," he told the <i>Hollywood Reporter.</i> "Then I saw him on the side of the stage and I gave him the sign. He was like, 'Do you want me to do it with you? To come on stage?' and I was like, 'Hell yeah! Of course!'

</P><P>Guetta and Usher found chart success together back in 2011 with <a href="/news/articles/1674782/usher-david-guetta-without-you.jhtml"> "Without You."</a> And the singer explained that it was just the right time and place for it.

That [song] really spoke to the journey that I've actually been on in the last three years," Usher said about that song and how it relates to his musical philosophy. "Traveling all around the world, music sounds different. There's many different genres, and when you see R&B and pop and house, as well as electronic, come together, that's the reality of what music is."

‘I’m not even ready for it yet,’ the ‘Jersey Shore’ star tells MTV News of her wedding plans.

Snooki may be planning for her baby, but she certainly isn’t planning her wedding just yet. The pint-sized reality starlet wants to welcome her first-born into the world before she officially becomes Mrs. Jionni LaValle.
“I mean, I do have a dream wedding,” she confessed to MTV News on Thursday in New York City, with her “Jersey Shore” besties JWoww and Pauly D by her side. “But I definitely don’t even want to talk about it or think about it because I’m not even ready for it yet. I just want my baby first.”
JWoww confirmed that the ever-expanding Snooki hasn’t put much planning into her wedding. “She’s in pregnancy mode,” Jenni added.
In footage from “Snooki & JWoww” shown to the Media on Thursday, Snooki drops the bombshell on her friend that she is both pregnant and engaged. While it seems JWoww is momentarily shaken, one ultrasound later, everyone seems on board for the baby. Though, there are still plenty of antics to be had, and they include the ladies apartment hunting, torturing their respective beaus and, yes, even hitting up a club or two for a night of dancing.
“I was very excited [when we found out about the baby]. I don’t know if I was more excited for what’s to come or the fact that we finally moved in together,” JWoww said of learning that there’d be another roommate in the house, growing inside her little friend. “But it’s not a dull moment. All of us, all eight of us [are going to help out]. It’s gonna have a lot of aunts and uncles.”
Snooki said the pregnancy may not have been in the reality-show plan, but they made it work. “When we film, it’s all about reality and what’s going on in our life,” she said. “So it’s not like we’re going in there and staging things. It’s what’s really going on in our life. It just so happens that I got pregnant while [we were filming].”

In accepting the award, Meron said the pair, who were also behind the Oscar-winning movie musical "Chicago" and "Hairspray," have spent a long time trying to "fight, persuade and manipulate" Hollywood into including LGB characters in their work.

</P><P>Also on hand was openly gay 17-year-old high school student Katy Butler, who received a special award from Weinstein Company co-chairman Harvey Weinstein for her work in launching a Change.org campaign last month to argue for a <a href="http://act.mtv.com/posts/bully-needs-more-sigs-so-join-justin-bieber-demi-lovato-ellen-more-in-the-rating-fight/"_blank">PG-13 rating</a> for the upcoming documentary, "Bully."

</P><P>Other winners included: "Dancing With the Stars" (Outstanding Reality Program), for including the story line of transgender dancer Chaz Bono last season, the HBO film "Cinema Verite" (Outstanding TV Movie or Mini Series), a film focused on the life of a black lesbian teenager, "Pariah" (Outstanding Film — Limited Release), "Battle Against Bullying" from ABC World News with Diane Sawyer (Outstanding TV Journalism Segment) and the "Batwoman" comic book by J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman (Outstanding Comic Book).

And as a way of kickstarting the next chapter of their career, frontman Justin Hawkins appeared in a well-received Samsung commercial that aired during Super Bowl XLV, in which he starred as a Spandex-clad pied piper who rescued folks from the monotony of everyday life. So, you know, it was basically a documentary.

</P><P>It's not clear if the Darkness will serve as the opening act on <i>all</i> of Gaga's Euro dates (a spokesperson for the band did not respond to MTV News' request for comment by press time), but, thanks to the Mother Monster herself, we now know that there <i>are</i> European dates for the much-discussed <i>BTW</i> Ball.

Looking as if she’s all healed up following her blender incident, Miley Cyrus paid a visit to a local Burbank, CA hospital for a doctor’s appointment on Thursday (April 26).
Accompanied by her mother, Tish, the former “Hannah Montana” star strolled inside the medical center while preparing to have stitches removed from her hand.
Just prior to the stitch removal procedure, Miss Cyrus offered up a tweet referring to the day’s experience, as she wrote, “scars remind us of where we’ve been. not where we’re going.”
With the accident having occurred late last month, Miley posted a message about her injury moments after cutting herself up, tweeting, “I’m all stitched up & have on a splint so I’m good. As you can tell by my expression, didn’t feel so good… Curse u blender!”
Cyrus’ rep later explained just what happened stating, “She cut her finger while cooking. Had to get a few stitches. She’s doing fine.”
